This five-day Langkawi itinerary explores the natural landscapes and island cruising grounds of Malaysia’s Andaman coast. Beginning at Telaga Harbour, the route follows the archipelago’s northern shoreline to Datai Bay, Tanjung Rhu, and Kilim Karst Geoforest Park before continuing towards Dayang Bunting and the southern islands. Langkawi comprises 99 islands and is recognised for its ancient rock formations, mangrove forests, caves, and distinctive karst scenery.

Welcome to Langkawi

Begin your charter at Telaga Harbour, a sheltered marina at Pantai Kok on Langkawi’s western coast. Board the yacht, meet the crew, and settle into your accommodation before enjoying lunch onboard or exploring the harbour’s waterfront restaurants and surroundings.

Spend the afternoon relaxing on deck or take a short introductory cruise around the nearby coastline. Return to the harbour or anchor within the surrounding bay for a relaxed first evening on the water.

Datai Bay

Rainforest Shores and Peaceful Waters

Depart Telaga Harbour and cruise north along Langkawi’s forested western coastline towards Datai Bay. Surrounded by rainforest-covered hills, the bay offers a quiet setting for swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, and enjoying the yacht’s water toys.

The short passage provides a gentle introduction to the archipelago and leaves ample time to relax onboard. Spend the evening at anchor, with dinner served against the backdrop of Langkawi’s mountainous northern coast.

Mangroves, Caves, and Limestone Karsts

Continue around Langkawi’s northern coast towards Tanjung Rhu, where a broad beach overlooks forested islands and limestone formations. Enjoy a morning swim or tender trip before entering the waterways surrounding Kilim Karst Geoforest Park.

Explore the mangrove forest by tender or kayak, passing limestone cliffs, caves, and sheltered waterways. Kilim is one of Langkawi’s principal geoforest parks and is known for its karst landscapes and important mangrove ecosystem.

Dayang Bunting and Beras Basah

Freshwater Lakes and Southern Island Cruising

Cruise south through the Langkawi archipelago towards Pulau Dayang Bunting. Go ashore for a short walk to Tasik Dayang Bunting, the largest freshwater lake within the island group, surrounded by forest and limestone hills.

Continue to nearby Beras Basah for an afternoon of swimming, snorkelling, and beach time. The southern islands provide a quieter cruising environment, making this an ideal location for the final sunset dinner and overnight anchorage of the charter.

A Final Morning Among the Islands

Enjoy breakfast at anchor followed by a final swim, paddleboarding session, or tender excursion. Begin the return journey along Langkawi’s western coastline, passing forested islands and sandy shores on the way back to Telaga Harbour.
